Losing
Weight Quickly
We
all know that there are hundreds of quick weight loss diets or plans
out here. Do they work? The answer is probably yes. They all work
to an extent. They will all help you to shed those extra pounds
quickly if you stick to them for a period of time.
Then what is
the problem and why isn’t everyone skinny? Well, there are
a number of problems; the first being that many of these fad diets
are unhealthy. The second problem is that some of these radical
diets are so extreme that it is impossible to stick with the program
for a long period of time. The third negative is that fad diets
do not encourage good eating habits and after the initial weight
loss, many people resort to their old eating habits and the lost
weight is all put back on and then some. One last negative can be
the cost of some of these quick with loss fixes, such as surgery,
which is risky and expensive.
So what is the
best way to lose weight? I am sorry to tell you that it is still
the same as it always was -count calories, exercise, and drinking
plenty of water. That’s right- the age-old method of losing
weight is a healthy diet, where you are eating foods from the main
food groups combined with exercise.
There are some
little tricks, but actually these are really not tricks at all,
but rather the way that everyone should eat whether they are on
a diet or not.
• Eat
small meals often throughout the day. Six small meals is what is
recommended.
• Eat
smaller portions.
• Stop
when you are full. Just get up and walk away from the table.
• Drink
plenty of water during the day.
• Take
in the proper amount of vitamins each day so you will have the energy
for exercise.
• Watch
your carb intake. Some say, don’t eat anything white.
• Limit
your salt. Try salt substitutes or just use less salt and more natural
herbs to season your food.
• Limit
or try to cut out all sugar. Lose that sweet tooth once and for
all.
• Watch
the alcohol. Alcohol is very high in calories, especially beer.
If you are going to have a drink, try vodka and seltzer.
• If you
go off your diet one day or one part of the day, don’t give
yourself a free pass to go crazy. Get right back on track.
• Exercise.
Find something you like to do and stick with it. Be sure to include
aerobic exercise in your regiment.
• Do not
be afraid to get on that scale. Weigh yourself often so you can
catch a pound increase before it becomes two or three or five pounds.
• Get
yourself psyched! Get in the mood. Tell yourself that you are going
to do it this time.
• Reward
yourself at different increments. Buy a new outfit. Get a massage!
Make yourself feel good.
